Reading V Aston Villa: Match Thread

Post by Sandie on Mon Aug 14, 2017 11:03 am

So what do we expect in this one and what changes should be made?

Sorry for the lack of a poll but that doesn't seem possible on the mobile version.

I would normally expect more of the same and another abysmal performance. However (I use this word a lot about Villa these days) knowing that a loss will almost certainly see Bruce sacked, I fully expect us to win! This will then extend an excruciating period of SB management and make sure that we are well and truly stuffed again this season.

1-0 Villa.

Green one on one with the keeper and passes the ball straight to him. Finishing is not his strong point.

Villa are evidently keeping shape well, but apparently we're calling Hogan back to defend which leaves us with no out ball when we gain possession. Was this what Bruce meant when he said "perhaps we're not ready to play with strikers"?

We're an eleven man defence .... I think the players have given up with Bruce and his crew and are just waiting for the inevitable.

I think we may have seen the last of Steve Bruce.
