Aston Villa FC v Birmingham City FC .... Sunday April 23rd 12.pm kick off.

Post by villabromsgrove on Sat Apr 22, 2017 2:44 pm

I'm not excited about this at all. What's happened to the buzz and excitement that I used to feel on the eve of a local derby?

The fact that Villa is almost becoming irrelevant in my day to day life, shows how much damage has been done over the last few years.

The fact that we've signed practically a whole new team, and have another different manager should excite me but it doesn't.

So .... on to the match. Will Harry perform a miracle and get Blues playing with enough passion to turn us over? Will Bruce at last take the reigns off our more accomplished performers and put Small Heath firmly in their place? Or will it be another dour struggle between two poor teams?

I'm going for the third option .... It ain't going to be pretty!

I'm predicting a bore draw with Kodjia missing. I hope I'm wrong.

I have a bad feeling we will lose to a Craig Gardner goal.

If Craig had a couple of extra metres of pace he would have been a great player. His total lack of pace dictated the over physical game that he developed and had to rely on. I hope he doesn't get space tomorrow outside the box or we could regret it.

I was up fairly early because I had to feed JimVillan's chickens and rabbits (he's taken the family to Disney Land), then I settled down to watch the London marathon, and I've only just remembered that we've got a game in just over an hours time.

I really am not the committed fan I used to be.

C'mon you Villa boys!

I wouldn't have picked either Bacuna or Grealish. Or had Agbonlahor on the bench.

Hogan isolated, and Blues want it more in the first 25 minutes according to the BBC.

Has Bruce realised we have a different striker up front today with different qualities to cater for?

It seems not.

A large crowd of fans have paid a collective fortune to watch a game of anti football. One chance to the Blues and a cross from Villa that nobody bothered to go for.

The second half has to be better!

I'm sure that it will get better when Gabby comes on to little avail.
