Wolves V Aston Villa: Saturday 14th January 17:30

Post by Sandie on Thu Jan 12, 2017 6:57 am

Returning to the league after our recent cup distraction and we'll be facing Wolves at Molineux live on Sky.

They're currently managed by Paul Lambert as we all know. I'm sure we're thankful that the distraction of employment frees him from opining on all things Aston Villa as he was in the year or so after he left. What kind of response will he be getting from a group of away fans he gave many depressing trips to, I wonder?

In recent weeks, they have picked up form under the Mumbler and have pulled away from the relegation zone. It won't be an easy game for us especially against an ex-manager motivated to do well against us nor a club who are local rivals. Some extra percent will be given here by them no doubt. So what do we expect to see happen on Saturday evening?

I can't see us winning because I simply cannot visualise how we will score. A draw at best imo, but the atmosphere might turn it into a "Cup Tie", in which case we'll lose. We still lack bottle and battle!

We have ground these games out in the past so based on nothing more than that and a dash of blind hope I'm predicting a narrow win. Also hope supporters of both clubs take the opportunity to pay tribute to Graham Taylor.

Maybe it's me losing faith rather than the players. I just feel so negative about our collective ability to play as a team.

I have to be more positive. I've got all the family round tomorrow teatime for drinks and shouting at the telly! Villa are on the box more than Chelsea this season .... C'mon you Villa boys!

It's probably our strongest line up which shows that we've got very little strength in depth. I still can't see where the goals are coming from. Set pieces or an individual moment?

Baker injured in the warm up (hamstring). Elphick plays in his place .... that could cause us problems. Let's hope Tommy has a good game.

1-0 Wolves. Gollini parries out into danger and Hutton is stood in space marking nobody ... hey ho nothing changes. I know it was Johnstone in goal, but the rest was the same.

The disconnect between our midfield and our front two would be comical if it was any other team but Villa!

Did the AFCoN catch us by surprise? I remember we were worried about losing players at the start of the season but were told the club "had a plan for it". If the plan was those two dumplings up front it was a shit one.

Wolves have Lambert coaching them and we were sh*t under Lambert .... Yet Wolves seem to have a much better team and players than us! Something is very wrong. Put it right Bruce, for god sake let's at least look like we're interested!

That said, Lambert's team had their moments, to be fair to them. They'd beat this Villa side no bother at their best.

What the F*ck! I mean what the holy F*ck. Dr T, Wyness, Round and Bruce need to have a conference call this evening and sort this sh*t out! We saw this coming .... and we're definitely not genius's. Sort it out Villa, because it's beginning to look like we're cursed!!!!!!!!!

In other news, we're just beginning a party evening with plenty of good food and drink, party games and karaoke. There's life apart from this Villa shambles.

Wine!
