Norwich City V Aston Villa Tuesday 13th December 19:45

Post by Sandie on Sat Dec 10, 2016 9:02 pm

Another quick turnaround coming up as we have a midweek game this time at Norwich.

Norwich were one of the top tips for promotion and started the season like a train. Since then the wheels have come off with 6 defeats in their last 7 games leaving Alex Neil under mounting pressure. I'm not sure whether this makes it a good or bad time to be playing them, especially with their one win being a resounding 5-0 win.

I think that in spite of Norwich's shaky form we are going to need to be much, much better to beat Norwich than we were against Wigan.

So what do we expect from the game?

I can't see us getting more than a draw, because I can't see us scoring more than one goal, and I would be amazed if we kept a clean sheet against Norwich. I don't sound to positive do I? Very Happy

Midweek mediocrity then?

I'm going to stick my neck out and say 2-1 win.

1-1 for me. Villa are going to have to convince me that they can score goals. That's the last thing I would have said at the beginning of September with our plethora of strikers.

I just think that between their current run and how we won't underestimate them we stand more than a chance in this game. They also won't sit back like Wigan did.

Match day already!

I wonder which Villa and which Norwich team will turn up tonight? This could go either way.

I live in hope that we see the one from the second half against Brighton. In that game the players all stepped up.

Me to Sandie. Everything appeared to click in the second half apart from scoring a winning goal.

The question is why we haven't scaled those heights since. Ever since we've been, at best, dogged and workmanlike.

Up to that moment we knew we had a way to go until we were at our best so we were playing without fear or real expectation. I think after that 45 minutes we thought we'd cracked it, and then the expectation level rose dramatically. We haven't handled the nerves too well since then.

Probably a bit of truth to that, especially at Villa Park. Tonight being away game perhaps we'll be more comfortable.

It's another televised game! We are on the TV far more than last season. We were really sh*t though weren't we.

Sky Sports One HD .... 7:45pm kick off. Coverage starts at 7:30pm.

Probably a more attractive fixture than some of the PL games that have ended up on TV so no surprise.
