RDM is concentrating on getting some players out now. It has to happen in order to engender the right kind of 'tight and together' squad mentality.

He seems not to have made a call on anybody yet. Be interesting to see if we have any surprises in who won't make RDM's cut.

I think pragmatism will figure largely. It's no good alienating players he hasn't got a hope in hell of selling, whether that be based on last years performances, or the comfort blanket of some very large contracts.

Going back to the comments about suggested targets I think we could do a lot worse than this guy for a creative/attacking midfield role: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36763363

He played well at the Euros and has played well over a sustained period in the Championship. As someone who's relatively young at 24, has the talent to make it at PL level and has a great deal of experience at Championship level (nearly 200 league appearances) he ticks every box I would have for a possible signing at this point. Derby won't be willing sellers (though the rejected bid for him seems derisory to me) and he has a Premier League suitor but we're still a big name.

Great shout Sandie, he looked more than useful at the Euros.

Agree VB if we trim down the squad, it will have a galvanising effect.

With Dr T saying that we're bringing in another three players in the next two weeks, it will need a cull rather than a trim to get down to RDM's preferred squad size.
