If Ayew goes then Bamford could possibly do a job in the Championship. He seemed to be out of his depth in the Premier last season. I hope Jordan Ayew stays though.

Strangely quiet on the Tshlbola and Gollini front today. I would like to have seen both players travelling with the squad to Austrian. They could join the squad in a few days time, but this is a golden opportunity missed.

Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Victor Valdez. Does that mean that Brad Guzan will remain at Villa unless he goes to the MLS?

I'm in a small minority because I like Guzan. I know his confidence was shot and his kicking atrocious last season, but I still see him as a better Championship keeper than Gollini, at least for next season.

It's difficult to magic confidence back, especially if you've been as bad as Guzan has been for so long. I think getting dropped at the end of the season before last is what has done for him.

What ever happens I would hope that we're going to team up Gollini with an experienced keeper. This season is so vitally important.

Interesting bit of speculation. Who are we targeting?

A bit of a beast by the look of it .... but it's a hell of a step up. Villa are really that big!

Sky Sports saying Marseilles are in talks with us over Gueye.

I think it is necessary to move players on, I have no problem with us selling Gueye. His work rate was great but I think Potentially Tshibola could be an upgrade as Gueye was pretty ineffective in the final 3rd of the pitch. There is a pressing need to trim down the squad size so if I was DM I would let Gueye go and Sinclair too if the right bid comes in.

A player with Pace and Power and can find the back of the net, Kodjia could be a useful addition. Again the fact he is proven in Championship is a invaluable. Would this mean the end for Gabby?

I'd be similarly non-plussed about Gueye going. He's a decent player but I had questionmarks over him. With us looking towards the future and having Tshibola on board players like him and Sanchez who play the same position should be sold. Both will be relatively easy to move on due to their reputations where some other players will be a difficult sell.

I think everyone on here knows my views on Gabby but for those who might have missed them, I'd really not be disappointed to see the end of his time at Villa Park.

What a difference a new owner can make. Tony wears his heart on his sleeve and speaks like a fan. A creative midder, a couple of powerful strikers with bullets loaded to be added in the next two weeks .... strong spine .... 18 thousand season tickets sold, c'mon let's add 5,000 more. He doesn't hang about does he? You can't help but love the guy's enthusiasm.
