I felt like I was watching the Villa of last season for another 90 minutes last night, instead of England.

Clueless, gutless and couldn't care less!

Hodgson said in today's press conference, that "he didn't know why he had to be there". How thick (or arrogant) do you have to be to think that people are not entitled to call you to account when you totally fail to carry out your highly paid job properly?

Belgium have strength in depth and are potentially a very good team. I like the passion that Wales play with, and with Bale and Ramsey in the team anything can happen.

C'mon Wales! cheers

The end of a fairy tale, but well done to Iceland for showing such guts and character.

I think the ref decided that match, which is a shame. Germany had to change their game after that soft penalty and it didn't suit them.

France v Portugal in the final, and it's looking like a home win to relieve some of the pain of the last couple of years.

Didn't someone here tip Portugal to win? Looking like it's possibly been a good bet.

I think France will win it, though.

It seems to me that of the major nations expected to do well, the poorest-performing of them have made the final.

Portugal's semi-final win was the first time they'd won in 90 minutes all tournament, while if you'd taken 5 minutes off each of France's group games they'd have been struggling to get out of the group.

Agreed, but England would still not have got to the final even if they'd been playing the likes of Bromsgrove Sporting!

This is true, however I no longer expect England to perform well at major tournaments. Even in those where they have performed well in patches (I'm thinking 2002 and 2004) there have been poor performances as well.
