Well the new manager won't be Pearson as he's gone to Derby. I think he might make them a strong contender and rival for promotion.

That's going to be interesting. We will be able to see on a weekly basis what both Pearson and Di Matteo (assuming?) bring to the Championship League.

It's all gone quiet this bank holiday weekend hasn't it?

I guess there's not much interest in our all but inevitable appointment of Di Matteo when England are in the pre-tournament, false confidence inspiring friendlies stage of the international cycle.

You mean the press were just using us Sandie? How could they!

In all seriousness, I expect (a guess) that Di Matteo will be confirmed in the next couple of days. Hopefully, he's planning for the new season already considering it's looking like an almost certainty that he will be in charge.

Unless anyone thinks there will be a late twist?

I think it's quite reassuring that nothing's being leaked now, and there are no more repetitive digging interviews going on. When it's announced I want to hear that it's a full package. Owner, Board, CEO, Manager and his FULL team. Then we can get started debating the pro's and con's.

I think the absence of news has lead to some dodgy reporting here. All the questions around Dr. X the press have used to try and make a crisis out of things are questions that the Premier League and Football League would have asked anyway as part of the fit and proper person's test. They've probably toughened it up again but that's nothing to do with Dr. X but with all the chancers who have passed it in the past.

With media attention moving over to England's Euro 2016 campaign we can now get things finalised in peace.

June 1st in a few hours time. Things have to start moving in the next seven days. We will have just three weeks to identify and bring in new players before we start pre season training. That probably means that we'll have players come in too late to get a pre season. The takeover and new manager appointment can't be put off for much longer.

We still don't have any pre-season plans lined up by accounts, how late can we line up friendlies and training camps?

I think plans have been pencilled in "just in case" but they would need approval by TX and the new manager. If the new manager is RDM I'm sure that he will already be working with Reilly (gulp) over the phone to arrange things.

One thing that a lot of fans seem to have missed is that the English and French transfer windows open on Thursday June 9th, while Germany, Spain and Italy wait until Friday July 1st. We need a new management team in situ by the 9th to protect our interests.

If an offer came in for a player who would make the call as things are?

"Sorry, I can't let you can't have Gabby, Lescott, Bacuna and Richards, because nobody else is here to okay it" says one of our part time cleaners.

I wrote this post exactly two months ago on March 31st. Now as well as still not having a manager, we haven't got a board!

And nobody's saying anything within this vacuum. It's almost like Villa Park has disappeared whilst we've not been looking. Can somebody pop over to Aston and see if there's still a stadium there?
