Aston Villa V Manchester City: Saturday 30th January at 15:00

Post by Sandie on Tue Jan 26, 2016 1:37 pm

Back in cup action on Saturday, can we spring a surprise in this one or are we going to slump to an almost inevitable defeat?

3-0 City win, for me.

I don't see Man City playing a strong team because of the importance of the league. Anything could happen, so I'm going for Villa to have a bit of luck and win by the odd goal.

Beating City would be a tremendous boost for our confidence and continue the progress we've shown over the last few games. Of course, there's always a good chance we will rest people too if the manager still wants to focus on Mission: Highly Unlikely to keep us in the league.

I would actually prefer us to play the squad rather than just the first team, but I think Remi will be desperate to keep the unbeaten run going for confidence reasons. I expect a strong Villa team on that basis.

We've got West Ham on Tuesday so resting people might be sensible.

A slightly weakened side due to Tuesday and West Ham, but a gritty 1-1 draw, maintaining the unbeaten streak and gaining confidence. Come on Villa!!

I'm not as up for this one as I would usually be (even this season). It's time for a cup shock to provide us fans with a shot of adrenaline right into the heart.

Rumours mounting that a certain hasbeen striker, beloved by yours truly may be making a long-awaited return to the first team for this one.

Guzan

Bacuna
Richards
Clark
Cissokho

Gana
Westwood
Veretout
Gil

Sinclair
Ayew

Subs: Bunn, Okore, Lescott, Hutton, Lyden, Grealish, Agbonlahor,

Don't think Ayew and Sinclair work well together as neither of them want to get into the box half the time.

2-0. Is it over too early like our season?

Bacuna needs the hook. His head has gone completely. Completely unprofessional.

Sounds like we're playing reasonably but with no goal threat. That's sounds like a fairly usual Villa performance.
