West Brom V Aston Villa: Saturday 23rd January at 15:00

Ding dong derby... Think we might be able to give them a scare with a bit of luck. 1-0 Villa win is my prediction.

Over to you...

I'm going for a victory too. Just what we need I'd say (the victory obviously, but a bit of local rivalry to focus on as opposed to just relegation) let's go out and keep the same intensity and passion as we've shown the last two league games and we should have enough to best these guys. I think 1-0 too, or 2-1, a close, tense affair. Let's hope we somehow manage to get a striker in by Thursday.....

It has to be a win. That isn't common sense talking, it's sheer maths. I'll go for a 2-1 win, though I haven't a clue where the goals are going to come from.

Did anybody impress enough last night to get into the side? I don't think so, Sanchez was awful by all accounts but maybe somebody fancies a change?

VB suggested that a front three of Kozak, Ayew and Gestede might be effective in scaring Albion's defence and I like the idea, though it leaves us without much of a wide presence.

I would risk it and drop the hard working but ineffective Westwood (I know he assisted last night Shocked), and play Ayew wide left (cutting in on his right foot) Gil doing the same on the right and just Gana and Veretout working their arses off in the middle, supporting Kozak and Gestede up front. We have to get more bodies and more service into the box if we're to get three points.

Anyone feeling oddly psyched up for this? I think we're going to smash them.

After this week's apathetic response from the club to our present predicament, I'm struggling to get up for this game.

Bunn, Richards, Okore, Lescott, Cissokho, Bacuna, Gana, Westwood, Gil, Ayew, Kozak

Veretout on the bench.

Remi's major weakness is getting the team sheet right.

He's gone for strength over creativity in the midfield, and he's ignored the fact that Foster is returning after ten months out. Gestede is needed in the box with Kozak to bully the keeper. As it is Garde has made it easier for Evans and Co to protect the keeper.

We have to win this match by our own actions .... we don't have to stop them winning.

I think that two players are absolutely essential to a winning Villa team. Ayew and Veretout. They make the team tick. I'm not happy about Veretout being dropped.

I wonder if Veretout has a knock or is fatigued?

I don't really have a problem with Bacuna being right mid, he might get crosses into Kozak and it covers the full back. It was something we should have tried when Hutton was doing his Cafu impression. I'd still prefer to see Veretout in over Westwood or Gana, though.

How Westwood get's in ahead of Veretout is beyond my comprehension.
