I've probably been too critical of this fixture. We've won so well done Villa. I just wish I felt excited.

Ah well, I'm off to bed with a good book. Sleep

I'm not feeling too much excitement either. It wasn't a great performance but we did what we needed to do. It shows an element of progress and we're unbeaten in four, which is something to be happy about after this season.

Interesting to note that for the City game in the next round, just ten days away, they're closing the Upper Trinity.

I think we're seeing the reality of "small corner shop" planning coming in to play. The problem is that in sending out the message that you don't expect "customers" to buy much, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy and a downward spiral.

Wow I'm surprised by this (but maybe shouldn't be as alluded to by VB) I was there in the upper trinity v Notts County in the League Cup and it was a healthy attendance, such is the current appetite. Surely a chance for the club to offer really low tickets to fans or maybe local schools go free etc?! Once again another own goal and small minded approach by villa.

It's obviously a cost saving measure, I presume by closing off that part of the ground they save money not having to pay for stewards or catering staff.
