Veretout takes a much better corner than Westwood.

Fully expected, but now we're sending Southampton the message that they can attack us non stop for the last fifteen minutes, by bringing Westwood on for Gestede. Now Richardson is coming on and I have to ask, "are you a slow learner Remi?"

Adama Traore will frighten Southampton to death .... Why isn't he on instead of a non existent Sinclair?

Has Garde not had chance to look at the league table lately. We need three points and we have players on the bench who might just do it for us. We're not going to get out of this by being afraid to play!

I'm beginning to think that there must be some non footballing reason for Adama not even getting twenty minutes, when Sinclair is taking his place and playing very poorly!

Maybe there was something in that contract clause story.

Well, a draw is better than nowt and more than we expected. Whether this can mark the start of a turnaround I'm not sure. Still, it's only Arsenal up next.

So .... everyone will be celebrating one point, when we had our best chance of taking three points since we played Leicester.

I guess the plan is to sit back against Arsenal next week with a team that looks like it's been picked by Kevin McDonald, and hope to somehow get another point!

We looked good for the first 20 minutes of the second half, and then lost our belief with some negative substitutions.

I know I'm being overly critical about the result and the way we got it, but i'd just like to see us get more out of our technical players by giving them a chance. Hughes is doing it at Stoke and they're playing some terrific football.

At the end of the day, that point will be a drop in the ocean opposed to what we need to get to remain in this division. It might be the start of the turnaround, it might be a spot of good luck but I'm not putting up the bunting yet.

They signed Afellay and Shaqiri, both of whom were established players who even I had heard of before they came to the Premier League. Adama was a 19yr old whose only experience came in the second division of Spanish football. There's quite a difference there. Stoke also had the advantage of an established and solid back four.

You 're right but I see potential in these players that people like Sinclair and Westwood don't have. I guess I'm just frustrated.

We've battled relegation in the last four seasons. When you are in that kind of position buying players on potential (and that's what we did with the likes of Adama and Ilori) is a bit of a folly. The money should be spent on players that can hit the ground running as a priority. Instead, we seemingly allowed Sherwood, Riley and Almstadt play Football Manager and ended up in a mess.

To be fair to Sherwood, if he was in control of buying the players as he thought he would be, our signings would have been completely different. He's still useless though.
